Ekmek Tarifi/Bread Recipe

Malzemeler:
2 tatlı kaşığı kuru maya/2 tea spoon of yeast
2 küçük su bardağı su /2 small cup of warm water
1 tatlı kaşığı şeker/1 tea spoon sugar
yarım tatlı kaşığı tuz/ half tea spoon of salt

1 yemek kaşığı yoğurt /1 table spoon of yogurt
1 tatlı kaşığı sıvı yağ/ 1 tea spoon oil
susam/sesame seed

First put yeast and sugar into a big container that you would use for kneating the doaw.

Then add the warm water. it should not be hot or cold. it should not be very hot for your little finger.
Mix water, yeast and sugar until the sugar dissolve. Cover the container with a plastic bag and tie it up. Wait 10-15 minutes. The yeast should be bubbly.

Then, add salt, mix it well. You should add flour little by little until you do not have very sticky doaw. When the doaw is ready, cover it up with a plastic bag again.  Cover it with a blanket too. and then leave it for 30 mintues.

If you like, you can mix regular flour with wheat flour. This is very tasty too.  However, if you are going to make a wheat bread, you should add wheat flour then you should add regular flour. Do not use more then 1 cup of wheat flour. If you put too much wheat flour, the doaw becomes very sticky and it is almost impossible to kneat.

The doaw would rise in 30 minutes. Try to make kind of rectangle shape doaw.
On your baking pan, put oil on the bottom of the pan, then put your rectangle shape doaw. I would recommend you to slice the bread on top little bit. This would help doaw to rise and cook better. Then, mix yogurt and little bit of oil. Brush this mixture on the doaw. If you like you can put sesame seed. Bake at 350 degree about 30-35 minutes.
To figure out whether or not the bread is cook. Stick the knife into the doaw, if you do not see anything on the knife. That means it is cooked.

Bona petite :)
